Hosea Kutako International Airport

Hosea Kutako, Windhoek's main airport, is Namibia's primary international hub with regular and reliable daily links between Johannesburg and Cape Town and weekly schedules connecting Frankfurt, London and Luanda. Secondary air links connect Harare, Lusaka, Maun and Gabarone as well as a number of domestic destinations. The airport is located 45 kilometres east of Windhoek along the B6 to Gobabis. Airlines operating out of the airport include Air Namibia, South African Airways, British Airways, SA Airlink, SA Express, TAAG Angolan Airlines and LTU. Public buses, shuttles and taxi services are available to ferry travellers to and from the city centre. Car rental companies based at the facility include Avis, Imperial, Budget and Hertz. Open air parking as well as under-roof overnight parking facilities operated by a private concessionaire are available. Other facilities at the airport include left luggage, business lounge, restaurants, cafe, curio and souvenir shops, disabled facilities, two bureaux de change, a post office, banks, VIP lounge, tourist information, communication centre, cellular phones rental desk, safari & travel agent and hotel reservations.

Eros Airport

Eros Airport, located in the southern part of Windhoek less than 5 kilometres from the city centre, is the main hub for all daily scheduled domestic and charter connections to Walvisbay, Ondangwa, Rosh Pinah, Lüderitz and Oranjemund. This city airport is also home to hundreds of charter operators (unscheduled). Facilities include passenger and cargo handling, transport shuttles and taxi services, car rentals, public parking, coffee shops, aviation training school, and pilot shop. A four star hotel is located within easy walking distance from the terminal (300m).

Sossus Air Taxi

Approximate Flight Duration 1 Hour

This service is run by Desert Air and operates to and from Sossusvlei Lodge airstrip. A well-maintained Cessna 210 aircraft and experienced pilot/guide are permanently based at the airstrip for scenic flights. Charter flights for up to 5 persons can be arranged for the one hour flight from Windhoek, Lüderitz or Swakopmund.
